Position Summary CLINICAL PHARMACIST - Critical Care EveningsOrlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC)Full Time Variable Shifts Position Overview This ICU focused position will provide immediate, evidence-based medication expertise to optimize patient care, improve safety, and support rapid decision- making during critical situations. They collaborate with other ICU healthcare members to manage acute pharmacotherapy and guide treatment at the bedside. Education/Training Pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science or PharmD) required. Licensure/Certification Must be licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy, renewed every two years. Experience Hospital experience is preferred. Desired/Required Credentials Doctor of Pharmacy degree combined with PGY-1 residency. PGY-2 residency experience in critical care or equivalent ICU hospital experience preferred. Florida pharmacy licensure eligibility required. Clinical Pharmacist, Critical Care Orlando Regional Medical Center, an 808-bed tertiary care teaching facility, seeks a highly qualified clinical pharmacist to participate in direct patient care activities in the ICU and to support the delivery and development of pharmacotherapy programs. Central Florida's only Level I Trauma Center with over 4,000 trauma patients per year More than 350 Medical Residents and Fellows and 10 Pharmacy Residents (PGY-1 Pharmacy Residents (4), PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residents (2), PGY-2 Emergency Medicine Pharmacy Resident (1) , PGY-2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residents (2), PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Resident (1) 115 Team Member Pharmacy Department providing service 24 hours/ 7 days per week A team of 17 PGY-2 or equivalent trained Clinical Pharmacy Specialists focusing on Internal Medicine, Medical Critical Care, Surgical Critical Care, Neurocritical Care, Surgery/Trauma, Nutrition Support, Emergency Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, and Infectious Diseases. Majority of Clinical Staff Pharmacists are PGY-1 Residency trained Decentralized and Satellite services specializing in Critical Care, Burn/Trauma, Intermediate Critical Care, Cardiology, Orthopedics, Surgery, Medicine, Oncology, and the Operating Room. CPOE / EPIC, Alaris Smart IV Pumps, SwissLog BoxPicker, Omnicell Available resources: Drug Information Center, Medical library with librarian support, Drug information databases, Pharmacy Intranet Resources. Extensive committee involvement, including but not limited to, Pharmacotherapy, Medication Use Subcommittee, Bioethics, Geriatric Quality Improvement, Antimicrobial Stewardship Team, Pain Management Subcommittee, and Heart Failure Taskforce. Extensive New Hire Orientation and Ongoing Staff Education Programs Excellent Benefits plus Competitive Salary Essential Functions Manages medication therapy in collaboration with the healthcare team; develops, recommends, implements, monitors, and redesigns drug therapy regimens to optimize therapy Attends code blue 90 events as they arise and assists with drug optimization and bedside delivery Provides drug and clinical information to other healthcare professionals.. Evaluates and provides recommendations on pharmacokinetic or nutrition consultations. Assist in the enhancement of our computerized medical record to optimize the care of our patients in the ICUs, throughout our organization and facility. This includes, but is not limited to, contributing to the development of reports, alerts, and clinical content. D., BCCCP, FCCM Clinical Pharmacy Manager Orlando Regional Medical Center Phone 321-843-9232 Fax 407-649-1827 E-Mail: Essential Functions • Demonstrates an understanding ofsafety, emergency and risk management procedures. • Demonstrates an understanding of the hospital mission, personnel policies, philosophy, and the goals and objectives of Pharmacy and Orlando Health. • Demonstrates familiarity with the general duties of the Pharmacy department. • Demonstrates the ability to identify and utilize resource persons and departments for customerservice and patient care. • Operates equipmentrequired for pharmacy procedures consistent with operating instructions, safety regulations, and policies and procedures. • Dispenses medications and intravenous fluids utilizing the medication dispensing system according to scientific principles and Orlando Health policies and procedures. • Documents on appropriate forms and in systems consistent with guidelines, defined standards of care and practice, and the quality improvements program. • Demonstrates an understanding of the various computersystems or applications in operation in the department and at Orlando Health. • Develops and demonstrates competency in all aspects of health-system pharmacy practice including pharmacotherapy, patient care, distributive services, drug information, and practicemanagement. • Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, execute, and monitor pharmaceutical care plans. • Develops and demonstratesthe ability to perform pharmacotherapy and pharmacokinetics consultations, as well as other clinical responsibilities if applicable at their site of practice (e.g. TPN initiation and monitoring). • Evaluates and addresses all appropriate alerts identified by CHR (e.g. IV to PO, renal dosing protocols, etc.). • Reports and investigates adverse drug reactions, medication errors, and documents them accordingly. • Participates in multidisciplinary rounds, if applicable at their site of practice. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
