Position Type: CERTIFIED SUPPORT SERVICES/PSYCHOLOGIST Date Posted: 2/20/2026 Location: Multiple Sites SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTI. General Description: To participate in the evaluation process to determine the eligibility, continuing eligibility, lack of eligibility, and special needs of students referred for special education services. II. Qualifications: 1. A Master's Degree or higher in School or Clinical Psychology from an accredited university 2. A current Arizona Department of Education School Psychologist certificate or current license from the Arizona Board of Psychological Examiners 3. Must possess a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card 4. Must be able to pass a background check upon employment III. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Participates in the prescreening processes as needed and requested. 2. Conducts evaluations as determined by the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team (MET). 3. Presides over all MET meetings as the "subject area expert" at assigned school sites. 4. Acts in the capacity of the "Local Educational Agency" (LEA) representative at all METs, IEPs, and other special education related meetings, unless that role is assumed by a knowledgeable site or district administrator. 5. Completes all evaluation components assigned at the MET and holds the MET meeting to go over the results within 60 calendar days from the date the signed permission to evaluate was received from the parents/guardians/surrogate unless a 30 day extension was requested from and approved by the child's legal representative(s). 6. Participates in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, as needed or requested, to provide recommendations and information concerning students' current academic and behavioral functioning to assist in the development of relevant IEP goals and accommodations necessary for an eligible child to receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). 7. Completes and maintains all relevant special education computer based records, paperwork, reports, etc. required by State, Federal, and District laws, regulations, procedures, and supervisor guidelines associated with the school psychologist's role. 8. Consults with and supports site and district staff, parents, and other individuals who participate in the various stages associated with the special education process from pre-referral to the exiting of students from special education on an as needed or request basis. 9. Presides over the meetings concerning the manifestation determination process, Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), and the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). 10. Acts in the role of consultant to the students, parents, and staff at the assigned school site(s) relative to school related psychological issues/needs. 11. Assists in the development of Section 504 Plans as needed. 12. Provides emergency psychological support during school related crisis. 13. Performs other duties as assigned.
