Offensive Cybersecurity Tools Developer

In the role of Offensive Cybersecurity Tools Developer, you will design, build, and implement cutting-edge offensive cybersecurity tools to support Red Team and penetration testing operations. Collaborating with Blue Team and Cybersecurity experts, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our overall cyber defense strategies. Note: Position contingent upon contract award, anticipated May 2026. Clearance: To be eligible for this position, an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance (IT Level I Tier 5/Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet the eligibility standards for accessing classified information. US Citizenship is mandatory for clearance acquisition. Requirements: Deep understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both written and verbal presentations. Must have one or more of the following DoD 8570.01-M CSSP Infrastructure Support certifications: CEH CySA+ GICSP SSCP CHFI CFR Cloud+ CND Possession of Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) certification is essential. Must have one or more of the following certifications: GIAC Exploit Researcher and Advanced Penetration Tester (GXPN) Offensive Security Exploit Developer (OSED) Responsibilities: Develop and refine offensive security tools such as Metasploit, NMAP, Kali Linux, and Cobalt Strike. Mimic threat actor behavior using TTPs aligned with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK. Conduct assessments across various operating systems, including Linux, Windows, and macOS. Engage in exploit development and identify zero-day or unknown vulnerabilities. Identify and remediate deficiencies in offensive tools and development practices. Conduct development tasks using at least two programming or scripting languages (Python, C++, Java, Rust, Assembly, C#, etc.) to support exploit development. Preferred Skills and Experience: Five years of professional experience in supporting Red Team/pentration testing engagements with a focus on tool development. Five years of experience in programming using at least three scripting or programming languages (Python, C++, Java, Assembly, C#, Rust, etc.). Five years of experience in identifying areas for improvement in tools and development techniques. Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, with a preference for National Security Agency Computer Network Operations Development Program (CNODP) graduates. Compensation: Compensation at SimVentions is based on various factors, including candidate experience, education, training, security clearance, location, skills, and alignment with corporate compensation guidelines.
