Join Our Team! We are looking for a motivated and versatile Industrial Gearbox Assembly Technician to become an integral part of our manufacturing team. This position involves the hands-on assembly of industrial gearboxes and related mechanical components, and is perfect for individuals with a solid mechanical background who can expertly interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions. Compensation: Pay is $36/hour with abundant opportunities for overtime. Key Responsibilities: Assemble industrial gearboxes, subassemblies, and components according to blueprints and work instructions. Interpret mechanical drawings, bills of materials, and assembly schematics. Install gears, bearings, seals, shafts, and housings with precision for tolerance and alignment. Measure and verify component dimensions using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators. Perform torquing, shimming, and backlash adjustments to uphold quality standards. Conduct functional testing and inspections of completed assemblies. Identify and troubleshoot assembly or fitment issues effectively. Maintain a clean and organized work area based on safety and 5S standards. Collaborate with quality, engineering, and production teams to ensure product accuracy and timely delivery. Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in gearbox assembly or heavy mechanical assembly. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation. Proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, and precision measuring instruments. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. High school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in industrial manufacturing, power transmission, or heavy equipment environments. Familiarity with bearings, gear sets, shafts, and housings. Technical/vocational training is an advantage. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to stand, bend, and work on the production floor for extended periods. Comfortable working with oils, lubricants, and industrial materials.
