Job Details — Travel Nursing Opportunity (Asheville, NC) Position: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Rapid Response / Cardiac ICU Nurse / Cardiovascular ICU RN Location: On-site in Asheville, NC 28801 (travel nursing job in North Carolina) Start Date: March 3, 2026 End Date: April 28, 2026 Contract Length: 8 weeks Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (12-hour nights) Hours per Week: 36 (48 hours guaranteed; overtime after 48 hours) Openings: 2 Estimated Weekly Pay Range: $2,470 – $2,600 (competitive pay for travel nursing jobs) Orientation: 4-hour hospital orientation plus one 8-hour unit shift Scrub Color: All navy, all white, or navy/white combination Scheduling: RTO/special scheduling will not be accommodated Required Qualifications — Cardiac Critical Care / CVICU RN Active RN license (state requirements apply) — Travel RN licenses for North Carolina required if applicable Minimum 1 year recent CVICU, rapid response, or high-acuity cardiac care experience Experience with ECMO, LVAD, and cath lab recovery strongly preferred Ability to float to cardiac-focused units (CVICU, step-down/progressive care, cath lab recovery) Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and managing emergent, high-acuity situations Primary Responsibilities — Rapid Response & Cardiac ICU Nursing Provide expert nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the CVICU and related units Respond rapidly to emergent situations as a Rapid Response nurse: perform focused assessments and initiate evidence-based interventions Care for patients requiring advanced cardiac support, including ECMO and LVAD management Support cath lab recovery patients and coordinate transitions of care with the interdisciplinary team Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical support staff to deliver high-quality cardiac critical care Accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses Maintain situational readiness for high-acuity and rapid response events during each shift Apply today for this CVICU Travel RN opportunity in Asheville, NC — take the next step in your cardiac critical care nursing career.
