Job Title: Field Service Technician Level 2 Department: Field Service Reports to: Site Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt Position Summary / Job Scope If you have a passion for optimizing equipment performance, we have an exciting opportunity for you! As a Field Service Technician, you'll operate at customer sites, representing Clean Tech and being an essential part of our dynamic and diverse team. You will receive training to support cutting-edge technology crucial for ensuring clean air, making you a steward of the environment as you help Centrotherm Abatement Systems achieve their full potential. Your role will involve working alongside global customers to install, maintain, and upgrade advanced Centrotherm equipment while providing outstanding support for high-value production systems. Minimum Knowledge and Skills As a hands-on technical role, you will be compensated on an hourly (non-exempt) basis. Key skills valued for success include: Strong communication skills for interacting with diverse factory personnel and stakeholders Commitment to safety and meticulous attention to procedural standards regarding hazardous materials Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Collaborative teamwork capabilities Interpersonal skills Proficiency with hand tools, including multi-meters Competence with Microsoft Office A personal focus on safety for yourself and those around you Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities Lead preventive maintenance inspections and necessary corrective repairs on Centrotherm equipment. Perform systematic maintenance according to customer schedules and requirements. Assist with complex troubleshooting tasks. Conduct work within clearly defined parameters: Assignments are usually semi-routine, completed using work instructions, PTPs, or other written guidance. Install equipment upgrades using relevant documentation and instructions. Help train new staff on preventive maintenance tasks. Use judgment to resolve nonstandard issues, typically receiving general instructions for most tasks. Provide accurate logs to meet company and customer reporting standards. Adhere to all company and customer safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. This list is not exhaustive and may include additional similar responsibilities as needed. Secondary Functions Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders regarding equipment status and escalations. Assist with ordering parts and maintaining inventory. Complete failure analysis documentation, part shipping, and required decontamination paperwork. Assist in developing pre-task plans, troubleshooting plans, and structured problem-solving processes. Preferred Qualifications: Over 2 years of experience in repairs and preventive maintenance within the semiconductor industry or a related field. Minimum and Preferred Education/Training/Experience Candidates must meet at least two of the following educational or experience criteria: Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in a STEM or technical program. Military service with 12+ months of experience can substitute for a degree or equivalent technical training. Technical certification or diploma from a trade school. 6+ months of relevant experience obtained through certification, apprenticeship, or similar work. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be capable of: Working in environments with potentially hazardous materials while wearing protective gear such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves. Possibly using a respirator. Being able to carry a coworker in emergency situations. Lifting up to 30 pounds. Typically walking 3-5 miles daily with additional time spent standing or sitting. Working a fixed schedule per management and customer requirements, including Monday-Friday or compressed shifts during both day and night hours.
