Job Description: Total Joint Replacement Surgeon, Director of NEBH/BIDMC Revision and Infection Center New England Baptist Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center The Dept. of Orthopaedics at New England Baptist Hospital, The Carl J Shapiro Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, (both affiliates of Beth Israel Lahey Health), and Harvard Medical School (HMS) seek applications and nominations for an Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction Surgeon with strong clinical and managerial experience, and an established record in orthopaedic education and research, to become Director of the newly established NEBH/BIDMC Revision and Infection Center at BILH. This is an employed position of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc. (HMFP). The incumbent is expected to provide managerial leadership, exceptional clinical expertise in management of complex arthroplasty cases, and support clinical, educational, and research activities within the Divisions of Arthroplasty at NEBH and BIDMC. The candidate will be also be appointed as teaching faculty at the Aufranc Adult Reconstructive fellowship at NEBH. Preferential consideration will be given to applicants who possess leadership experience managing orthopaedic programs, in addition to an impactful academic and research record. Academic Rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and scholarly achievement. Faculty appointment decisions are solely the purview of HMS. Alternative academic appointment via NEBH is available for candidates not interested in pursuing an HMS appointment. Clinical practice will be based at New England Baptist Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Level I trauma center in the heart of Boston's Longwood Medical Area, with additional clinical opportunities or requirements for practice at other sites within the Beth Israel Lahey Health network. Candidates must have completed an accredited orthopaedic residency training program, a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction, be board certified, and be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts. A competitive base salary will be offered with incentives for clinical productivity. A robust package of benefits is also provided through HMFP. Pay Range: $400,000 - $900,000 The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations.
