TheConsumer Trade teamis on the lookout for a Product Manager to play a crucial role in guiding our users through the complexities of managing their crypto taxes, portfolio performance, and realized/unrealized gains and losses related to their Coinbase activity and beyond. You will spearhead the ideation, development, and execution of a top-notch retail tax experience and tax center that simplifies a complicated problem space—handling multiple wallets, on-chain transfers, gas fees, and incomplete cost basis—while ensuring that Coinbase meets its tax reporting obligations in key markets. You'll also manage essential parts of the consumer trading experience accessed by millions each month, such as transaction history and performance. Your expertise in financial transactions, tax concepts, and trading performance will help create engaging, trustworthy experiences that empower users to manage their transactions, P&L, and tax responsibilities seamlessly. What you'll be doing: Own the Retail Tax and Performance roadmap: Analyze user behaviors, emerging tax regulations, and market trends to develop a roadmap that simplifies the process for customers to view transactions, track performance, and manage their crypto taxes (including multiple wallets, on-chain transfers, and gas fees). Data-driven decision making: Establish success metrics and conduct experiments to assess the effectiveness of tax and performance features (e.g., completeness of tax profiles, reduction in missing cost basis, engagement with tax tools, downstream filing behavior). Utilize data and user feedback to make continuous improvements. Ship from concept to delivery: Oversee product development from inception to launch and beyond, iterating until you create the most seamless, trusted retail tax and performance experience in the crypto sector. Design for scalability and seasonality: Ensure the Retail Tax and performance interfaces are reliable, efficient, and user-friendly during critical periods like tax season and significant market events. Drive team alignment: Foster clarity and cooperation across Consumer Trade and partner teams regarding the Retail Tax and performance vision, requirements, and execution plan, keeping everyone focused on solving the most impactful problems. What we look for in you: 5+ years of product management experience, including building or scaling consumer products, preferably within fintech, investing, tax, or data-heavy domains. Expert knowledge in financial transactions and taxes, such as experience with tax reporting products, cost basis calculations, gains/loss assessments, or trading performance evaluation. Strong analytical and data skills, with a background in P&L, performance analytics, or related financial reporting for retail users. Experience in consumer UX and a strong design sense for simplifying complex financial information into accessible, engaging formats. Experience with building products in ambiguous environments, creatively addressing challenges while maintaining high standards. Ability to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including Tax, Legal, Compliance, Finance, support, and external partners, balancing regulatory, business, and user needs. Familiarity with the crypto space and hands-on experience with crypto products—ideally with on-chain activities like DEX trading or transaction flows—to understand the complexities of taxes in a multi-wallet, multi-chain context. Excellent communication and influencing skills, proven in shaping strategic decisions and driving alignment among senior stakeholders. An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving setting. Willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new and intricate regulatory and technical areas. Job# P75681 Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual base salary for this position can range as outlined below. Full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity participation, and benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
