Come join our team!Zantech is looking for a talented Chief Enterprise Architect to contribute to the success of our upcoming Enterprise Business Transformation project in a Hybrid role based out of the Washington DC Metro area.The Chief Enterprise Architect will play a crucial role in: Current State Assessment & OptimizationTransformation Vision, Strategy & Roadmap DevelopmentEnterprise, Business & Data/Ai Architecture LeadershipImplementation, Integration & Quality Assurance Support (Oversight)Technical Strategy And Governance Across All Task Areas Summary:Serves as chief architect and technical strategist providing enterprise architecture governance, technical strategy leadership, and multi-vendor architectural oversight for $150M+ HHS grants ecosystem transformation. This is the primary Senior Technical Director position responsible for strategic architecture leadership, enterprise framework definition, and technical governance. Works in coordination with Senior Technical Director to provide comprehensive architecture coverage.Impact:Critical impact on long-term technical coherence and transformation success through enterprise architecture framework definition, strategic technical decision-making, and unified technical vision across complex multi-system portfolio with 170+ interfaces and 49+ partner integrations.Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to: Define and govern enterprise architecture framework for future-state HHS grants ecosystem across three major systemsDevelop reference architectures, design patterns, and solution standards ensuring scalability, security, modularity, and interoperabilityProvide strategic technical leadership and governance across multi-vendor environment (Grants.gov, GrantSolutions, TAGGS modernization)Facilitate weekly architecture governance meetings establishing DoDAF SV-2 standards adopted enterprise-wideLead current state architecture assessment across all three platforms identifying legacy constraints, dependencies, and modernization prioritiesAdvise DIS leadership on major technical decisions including architectural trade-offs, technology selection, and investment prioritizationDesign integration architecture framework for 49+ partner systems with 170+ unique interfacesEstablish technical vision and multi-year roadmap aligned with HHS IT strategy, Zero Trust principles, and DOGE cost-efficiency mandatesCoordinate with Senior Technical Director #2 (0.25 FTE) to ensure comprehensive architecture coverage across specialized domainsLead architecture reviews and EPLC technical evaluations ensuring modernization aligns with enterprise visionDevelop cost-optimization strategy through architectural consolidation delivering 30%+ O&M cost reductionEnsure architecture alignment with Federal Data & AI Strategy and trustworthy AI principles Preferred Experience or Knowledge of the following technologies/functions: 15+ years enterprise architecture experience in complex Federal IT environments, with 8+ years in chief architect or technical director roles leading large-scale modernization initiativesEnterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, Federal Enterprise Architecture)DoDAF architecture standards and SV-2 landscape diagram developmentMulti-system integration architecture (SOA, microservices, API design)Cloud architecture and migration strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP)Federal IT modernization and legacy system transformationZero Trust architecture principles and FISMA Moderate complianceArchitecture governance and multi-vendor technical oversightStrategic technology roadmap developmentData architecture and semantic modelingAI/ML architecture principles and governance frameworksTechnical debt assessment and quantification methodologiesStakeholder engagement at CTO/CIO levelCost optimization through architectural consolidationDemonstrate a successful track record of extracting value from, Preferred Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical fieldMaster's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Enterprise Architecture, or related fieldAdvanced degree in systems engineering or related technical disciplineAWS Certified Solutions Architect - ProfessionalAzure Solutions Architect ExpertFederal Enterprise Architecture CertificationOpen Group Certified Architect (Open CA)ITIL Expert or ITIL 4 Strategic LeaderCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Required Security Clearance: US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret trust or higher clearance, per contract requirements. “ Outstanding Performance…Always!”Our corporate motto represents our commitment to build long-term relationships with both our clients and our employees by providing the highest quality service in everything we do.
