Job Description

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Respond to and protect the building from incidents of fire, medical emergency, theft, illegal entry, loitering and other suspicious acts in accordance with the policies and procedures set by the MCCNO. Patrol assigned areas checking for safety hazards and document any irregularities found. Examine doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure and have not been tampered with. Ensure that all lights and equipment are turned off in areas that are not in operation. Warn violators of rule infractions, report infractions and escort persons engaging in suspicious and/or criminal behavior off the premises. Report and log data on unusual occurrences such as property damage, injuries, theft, etc... and create detailed incident reports in a timely manner. Gather information by interviewing and obtaining statements from victims, witnesses and suspects. Prepare incident reports in a reasonable amount of time and free from errors. Monitor entrances, exits, movement of people and vehicles and report any suspicious behavior immediately. Observe and escort departing personnel off the premises to guard against possible safety hazards. Attend and participate in all staff meetings and training sessions. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Other Skills and Abilities Work extended/irregular hours as necessary including nights, weekends, and holidays. Professionally interact with diverse groups of people in high pressure situations.
