POSITION TITLE: Applicator Technician DEPARTMENT: Machine Division - Applicator Mfg. Position Summary: Fusion Inc. is looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined Applicator Technician to build and repair our precision paste applicators, dispensing nozzles, and automated dispensers. If you love working with tools, fixing things, tinkering on projects (cars, bikes, home repairs, etc.), and taking pride in quality craftsmanship, you'll fit right in. No deep experience needed - we're looking for mechanically inclined individuals eager to learn, and we'll provide thorough on-the-job training. If you enjoy working with your hands, learning new skills, and taking pride in quality work, this role is for you. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Assemble and repair dispensing nozzles, paste guns, applicators, and related components using work orders, repair requests, engineering drawings, and verbal/written instructions. Fabricate custom nozzles by drilling, shaping, brazing, and sanding stainless steel components to precise specifications. Use hand tools, precision measuring devices (such as calipers and micrometers), and power tools (including drill press, belt saw, sanders, and grinders) to build, repair, and modify paste guns and dispensing nozzles. Set up, test, and confirm proper operation of applicator equipment, including functional checks for performance and quality. Collaborate with customer service to assess requirements, conduct tests, prepare repair/replacement cost estimates, recommend improvements, and ensure timely shipment to meet customer needs. Manage parts and materials; maintain accurate inventory records in the department and inventory system. Document completed work, parts used, modifications, and final details; maintain organized records for traceability and quality. Follow established Quality Policy, ISO 9001 standards, and procedures; contribute ideas for continuous process improvement. Adhere to all safety rules, use tools and equipment responsibly, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Identify and report any faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to supervision promptly. Package finished products and assist with shipping and receiving as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Requirements: We're excited to welcome mechanically inclined individuals who are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on manufacturing role. While some experience is helpful, we prioritize aptitude, reliability, and a genuine interest in building and fixing things. Full training provided-no need to be an expert to start! High school diploma or equivalent (or equivalent experience) Mechanically inclined mindset - you enjoy working with your hands, tinkering on projects (like cars, bikes, home repairs, or DIY builds), and solving practical problems Basic familiarity with assembly, tools, and hands-on work is a plus; open-flame hand brazing or simple electrical wiring knowledge preferred but not required (we'll teach you the specifics) One year in a shop, mechanical, maintenance, or related hands-on environment preferred. Comfortable using measuring tools (like calipers and micrometers), hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment (grinders, drill press, sanders, etc.) or excited to learn! Able to stand for the shift duration and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
