Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic Job DescriptionAs a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform all duties and responsibilities required for maintaining building machinery, mechanical equipment, and physical structures. You will operate without supervision, offering recommendations and consulting on improved methods or alternatives. Additionally, you will instruct other maintenance department personnel on proper procedures.Responsibilities Perform all duties required of Maintenance Mechanics 'B'. Initially responsible for machine guarding throughout the facility and making repairs or upgrades to a wide variety of machinery or equipment in manufacturing or printing departments. Demonstrate considerable mechanical ability, wire welding experience (TIG desired), and experience with machine guarding from repair to fabricating new guarding. Complete all maintenance functions on building machinery, mechanical equipment, and physical structure without supervision. Make or recommend repairs or parts replacement following regular mechanical inspections and consult on improved methods or alternatives. Assist other maintenance mechanics and collaborate on projects requiring coordinated efforts, including moving machinery and installing new and/or existing lines. Clean work area, machines, and equipment, and return unused materials and supplies to storage. Perform maintenance work on production lines, punch presses, body makers, injection molding presses, chutes and conveyors, lithograph presses, coaters, ovens, and compressors. Monitor building and equipment for proper safety and inform supervision of any unsafe conditions that cannot be corrected. Push, pull, or lift heavy objects up to approximately 60 lbs. Work late evening, early morning, or other unscheduled hours to perform necessary emergency repairs. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment. Mechanical and electrical experience. Preventive maintenance knowledge. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Troubleshooting skills. Experience with press maintenance, installation, and use of hand tools. Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and three-phase systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Considerable mechanical ability. Ability to properly use mechanic's tools and equipment. Competency with calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
