General Job DescriptionThe Outsource Buyer is responsible for securing a qualified supplier to perform any and all services that are deemed necessary by the Production Planning Department. These services include, but are not limited to: machining, fabrication, painting, heat treating, galvanizing, balancing, etc. This individual is also responsible for procuring these services at a cost that is within budget, and within a timeframe that meets our schedule.Duties/Responsibilities Development and Management of a qualified supply base.Coordinate supplier qualification with Quality groupCommunicate all details required to define scope, acceptance criteria, and commercial termsCoordinate and negotiate contracts or work agreements with suppliers to perform ServicesCreate and execute purchase orders with suppliers.Expedite to maintain Adherence to internal schedules.Communicate with appropriate departments.Budgetary responsibility for entire scope of outsourcing. Skills/Qualifications: 3-5 years of procurement experience in the metals industryExperience in machine shop and fabrication environmentsFull knowledge of machine shop capabilities and capacitiesAbility to read and understand drawingsStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsMRP/ERP experience preferred Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalentMust be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodationBachelor’s degree or equivalentMust be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation R-V INDUSTRIES, INC.
