Job Description

Recruit, screen, and assess individuals as to their eligibility for Harbor Light System programs by conducting intakes and providing referrals. Provide screening, assessment, referral, and follow up services for individuals seeking admission to Harbor Light programs Complete Screening, Assessment, Referral, and Follow-Up data reporting forms Assess potential clients to determine ability to pay sliding fee scale Refer to area Central Diagnostic and Referral Agency for interim services to those individuals who cannot be admitted to treatment within 48 hours Maintain waiting list for State-funded clients Submit Capacity Matrix Forms to Site Administrator Serve as a liaison between local probation/parole departments, Central Diagnostic Referral agencies, and other outside referral sources Establish linkage with a comprehensive community network of health and social service providers Maintain a working knowledge of the American Society of Addiction Medicine manual and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM -IV-TR) The complete intake process for clients within the established time frame as indicated for each program. This includes completion of all required critical documents Provide treatment satisfaction surveys at admission and determine accessibility and efficiency of services Follow up with referrals of detox clients to assist in the development of aftercare plan Understand and work within The Salvation Army and Harbor Light Mission Statements. Possess an excellent working knowledge of The Harbor Light Policies and Procedures Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned HIPAA - Level 1 access to Clinical Record Must possess a Master's degree in Behavioral Science (Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or Addiction Studies) with significant course work in substance abuse treatment. Must possess Addiction Counselor Certification (FAODP/MAFE) or have the ability to take pass the exam with 60 days of new hire. Must possess MCBAP appropriate certification (CAADC, CADC-M, CADC) or approved MCBAP Development Plan Minimum 18 months experience working in the field of substance abuse plus at least the equivalent of a 6 month Masters level internship in the field of substance abuse Possess American Society of Addiction Medicine Training or receive training within one year of employment Basic Computer skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, and Email Experience using Electronic Medical Records systems preferred T.B Test and police clearance required The Salvation Army offers the following benefits: Health Care Benefits which include Medical Dental Vision Hearing Flexible spending accounts AFLAC Voluntary life insurance benefits Pension contributions (currently 5.25% of your earnings) begin the first quarter after 1 year of employment. There is currently no organizational match for 403(b) contributions. Paid Time Off Sick days begin accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use sick days after (90) days of employment. Up to (4) earned sick days per year may be used as discretionary days. Vacation begins accruing the first of the month after one full calendar month after employment begins, and you may begin to use vacation days after (90) days of employment. The accrual rate is based upon years of service and approved hours worked. You will receive up to 2 personal days and 2 floating holidays this year, pro-rated on month of hire, and will receive 2 personal and 2 floating holidays in following years. You may begin to use personal & floating holidays vacation days after (90) days of employment. Paid holidays are effective immediately.
