Position Type: Secretarial /Clerical/Secretary Date Posted: 2/27/2026 Location: Georgetown Middle School Date Available: 07/01/2026 Closing Date: 03/13/2026 District: Indian River School District Administrative Assistant II (formerly Financial Secretary)Minimum Qualifications: Required Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED. Five years of secretarial/administrative support experience with aspects of accounting, bookkeeping, and other financial-related duties. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to coordinate workload to meet changing priorities, schedules, and deadlines. Ability to handle problems and issues that arise and address with an appropriate resolution in a professional manner. Proficient computer skills including experience with a variety of software programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, Quicken, Access or other district approved programs. Preferred Associate's Degree in Secretarial Technology, Business, Accounting or related field. Prior completion of the State of Delaware First State Financials (FSF) training; if not, training must be completed within 60 days of employment. Primary Functions: The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the following: Performing work accurately, timely, in an organized manner, and in compliance with state and district policies and procedures. Coding, processing, and data entry of information relative to purchase orders, payment vouchers, and other financial transactions. Communicating, both verbally and in writing, professionally and effectively with both internal and external entities. Reviewing documents and transactions provided by district schools/departments for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with state and district policies and procedures. Working closely with vendors to order and receive supplies and materials, reconcile payments, resolve billing disputes, and ensure timely payment of invoices. Preparing and/or revising spreadsheets regarding school, department, or district budgets or other information. Preparing monthly reports, including, but not limited to: Revenue projections and collections Expenditure budgets and projections Federal reimbursement reports Reconciliation reports Other reports, as assigned Other duties, as assigned.
