Registered Nurse

Under the guidance and supervision of the nurse, the supervisor shares the responsibility for total patient needs. As a member of the nursing team, he/she performs a variety of technical and skilled patient care duties, many of which were acquired through nursing education and supervised on-the-job training and experiences. The Registered Nurse shares the responsibility of providing a safe and comfortable environment conducive to healing while delivering quality care. Assist a physician and/or nurse practitioner as needed to provide all care. SUPERVISION A. SUPERVISED BY: Director ICU/SCU/Peds B. SUPERVISES: Licensed and un-licensed staff C. LEADS/GUIDES: May function as Relief Charge Nurse JOB SPECIFICATIONS A. EDUCATION: -Required: • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing • 12 hrs. continuing education per year • Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Interpretation Course or successful completion of the validation exam within one year of employment • Successful completion of the Basic Critical Care Course or successful completion of the validation exams when assigned by the Department Leader during the first two years of employment. -Desired: B. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: -Required: Current license as an RN in the State of Georgia, BLS, ACLS (within 6 months of employment); CPI Training class within 6 months of employment. Desired: - PCCN
