Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals. Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions aimed at improving language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Engage in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team that includes physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop unified care approaches. Provide essential education to patients and their families to ensure progress continues beyond the clinic. Participate in occasional evaluations and therapy for inpatients, fostering continuity in care throughout the treatment process. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines through meticulous documentation practices. Commit to ongoing professional development by staying updated on industry advancements through continuing education and peer collaborations. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Successfully completed a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for those who are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment. Skills Proficiency in evidence-based therapy approaches across all age groups, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills tailored to engage patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams effectively. Ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment combined with effective problem-solving capabilities.
