RN/LPN Part-Time Assisted Living

Luther ParkCommunity is seeking a Part-time RN/LPN Nurse Supervisor to join our team. This position will work 24 hours per week and be part of the on-call rotation. The RN/LPN NurseSupervisor provides nursing care for general assisted living and memory careresidents for the Gardens at Luther Park Community and helps supervise thenursing staff. The RN/LPN Nurse Supervisor will be knowledgeable of all state andfederal laws, rules and regulations applicable to assisted living. Theindividual works with the Manager of Health Services to provide a physical,social and psychological environment conducive to maintaining the highest levelof independent function and well-being for all residents of the program. Essential Functions: • Help maintainadequate staffing 24/7 to meet the needs of the residents • Help fill nursing staff shifts • Communicate withfamily members regarding the condition and progress of the resident includingin-person and telephone discussions where appropriate. • Ensure thefacility operates in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations • Provide leadershipand direction to all nursing staff • Receive and followup on faxes and help with completing med changes • Participate in on-call rotation • Assist with andsubmit records and documentation as required by internal policies, state andfederal rules, regulations and laws for assisted living facilities. Make sureincident reports are completed on time and followed up on • Participate incontinuing education to maintain credentials and increase expertise • Doing 30 and 90day assessments that are needed within the needed time • Help with monthlychange over • Do monthly MARaudits • Documentation for each resident regarding any changes, things that are occurring and conversations with families • Being able to beon call when needed and able to address issues that come up after hours whenstaff reach out for nursing advise • Follow up daily on acuteassessments with residents Minimal Requirements: • Possess an activeregistered RN/LPN license in compliance with Iowa Board of Nursing requirements and standards • Must be able topass a background check and post offer physical, drug screen and TB test • 1 year ofexperience with assisted living or long-term care programs is preferred • Knowledge of MSOffice products including Word, Excel and Outlook • Ability to respondto common inquiries or complaints from residents, family members, staff,regulatory agencies or members of the business community • Possessinitiative, good judgment and leadership ability to work well with thecommunity, residents, families and staff. • Possessunderstanding and compassion for our elderly population • Ability to buildeffective working relationships with people of all backgrounds • Excellent verbaland written communication skills • Self-directed andable to work independently • Support LutherPark Community's mission, vision and core values.
