Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures is essential. Candidates with less experience or requiring extensive onboarding will not be considered. Verifiable references from at least two prior travel assignments are required, confirming no training was needed. Candidates must be able to function independently in a fast-paced surgical environment and have the ability to hit the ground running. The schedule for this contract is 3 shifts on weekdays, primarily from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, based on department needs at the time of interview. This position requires participation in call coverage for the service line after normal business hours and during weekends. The service line provides surgical interventions for routine and complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Cardiac procedures include coronary artery bypass, valve repair or replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, and placement of ventricular assist devices. Thoracic cases include laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open procedures. Vascular procedures range from placement and revision of grafts and fistulas to endovascular procedures. The service line includes multiple operating rooms depending on daily volume, including an endovascular suite. Capacity exists for concurrent procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass.
