PowerBI Cognos Developer

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills • 8+ years of skilled Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Power BI; exposure to IBM Cognos. • Strong SQL and Spark (PySpark/Scala) skills. • Experience with data modeling and BI semantic layers. • Experience with Azure Data Lake or similar cloud storage. • Experience working in Agile delivery teams. Roles & Responsibilities • We are seeking a Data & BI Developer to design, build, and support analytics solutions using Azure Databricks with reporting in Power BI and IBM Cognos. This role focuses on hands-on development of data pipelines, dashboards, and analytical models to support business reporting and insights. • Develop and maintain data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Spark. • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards, datasets, and reports. • Develop and support IBM Cognos reports and framework models as needed. • Implement dimensional data models for analytics and reporting. • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks. • Collaborate with analysts and product owners to understand reporting requirements. • Optimize Databricks jobs and Power BI datasets for performance and scalability. • Implement row-level security and data access controls in BI tools. • Support data integration between source systems, Azure Data Lake, and BI platforms. • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and code reviews. • Troubleshoot production data and reporting issues. • Maintain technical documentation for pipelines and reports. • Follow coding standards, security guidelines, and development best practices. • Support CI/CD processes for Databricks and BI artifacts. • Learn and adopt new features in Databricks and Power BI.
