About the role: As a Product Engineer at OpenEd, you'll work on a small, high-impact team building new features and products while learning our technical stack. You'll collaborate directly with our product team and senior engineers to maintain our existing application and develop new capabilities. This is a Fullstack position with an emphasis on frontend technologies, though you'll gain experience across the entire stack. This role offers significant growth opportunities as we transition from current agency contractors to a full in-house engineering team. Responsibilities: Build and maintain features using React, NextJS, and other modern Typescript technologies; delivering highly maintainable solutions through thoughtful and strategic coding Collaborate with senior and agency developers to learn best practices and improve your coding skills Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability Help troubleshoot and fix issues in our existing codebase Collaborate with stakeholders to design and architect products and services, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, availability, and reliability of our tech stack Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing About you: You're early in your software engineering career but demonstrate strong potential and passion for building quality web applications. You're comfortable with React and modern Typescript, have a growth mindset, and care deeply about creating technology with a positive impact in service of our mission. You approach problems methodically, ask questions when needed, and take ownership of your work. You're excited to learn from more experienced developers while bringing fresh perspectives to the team. Requirements: 3-5 years of professional software development experience in scaling environments Strong foundation in React and modern Typescript Enthusiasm for our mission Interest in product design and user experience Basic understanding of web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, API integration) CS degree, completion of a reputable coding bootcamp (like Turing), or equivalent practical experience with supporting portfolio Ability to work effectively in a remote environment Strong communication and collaboration skills Our Benefits: Competitive base salary, $80-130K (depending on experience) Comprehensive Health Benefits: Health insurance package including medical, dental, vision, life, critical illness, accident, STD/LTD, HSA, and FSA with dependent care.
