It requires project management (requiringless supervision from the network Tech) of departmental implementations as well as supervision of subordinatestaff involved with these projects. Also, the duties involve the coordination of any repairs that are done by othersand the coordination and maintenance of other related equipment. Incumbent does related work as required.PLEASE NOTE: Wayne County Civil Service Application/Exam is required upon applying.Wayne County Civil Service Application (TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:? Management of departmental projects? Serves as a resource and troubleshooter to departmental personnel.? Maintains hardware and peripheral equipment, including PC's, Macs, Apples, network, hardware and cabling.? Installs and configures hardware/software as per departmental requirements;? Maintains accurate inventory records on equipment;? Explains revisions in software packages;? Designs network cable plans for network installations and/or modifications;? Diagnoses and repairs problems associated with hardware, software and/or the network;? Develops and implements schedules to provide preventative maintenance;? Analyzes potential problems and takes corrective action;? Researches, designs and maintains desktop security policies for network, pc's, Macs, mobile devices and users;? Researches, designs and implements automated work flows to create efficiencies in network software updatesand fixes;? Researches and installs new network hardware and software.FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND INTERPERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Good knowledge of the use and operations of computers and technology systems and related peripheral equipment;Good knowledge of the application of computer and technology systems; ability to install, adapt and maintainpurchased software to existing applications; ability to diagnose, evaluate, troubleshoot and repair computerproblems and take proper action; ability to work well with others; computer and technology literacy. Ability tolisten to others and understand what they truly want accomplished.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:A. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a bachelor's degree incomputer science, micro-computer technology, computer information systems, information technology orrelated field; and one (1) year paid full-time or its part time equivalent experience responsible for the computeroperations, technical support or systems development, including installation and maintenance of computerhardware or software. ORB. Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two year college with an Associate's degree incomputer science, micro-computer technology, computer information systems, information technology, orrelated field and three (3) years of experience in computer operations, technical support or systemsdevelopment, including installation and maintenance of computer software and hardware; ORC. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of abovelisted experience; ORD.
