The technologist maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures. Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify patient service requirements and establish rapport. Instructs and communicates with patients and their families regarding the procedure to be performed and assesses the patient's ability to tolerate the exam. Prepares the patient and area for the procedure by positioning the patient, adjusting immobilization devices, and moving equipment into specified positions. Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection control, drug, and radiation policies. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements. Maintains equipment and work areas to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Reports issues to management or the appropriate department and assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures. Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as patient history, pregnancy status, and consent forms. Maintains medical imaging records in compliance with department policies and standards for timely interpretation. Demonstrates ability to perform high-quality procedures in a timely manner. Able to explain the procedure clearly and put patients at ease. Provides services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner while following regulatory standards and policies. Performs tasks independently without the need for routine oversight. Maintains a calm and helpful attitude under stress and takes appropriate steps to resolve issues. Effectively administers first aid and uses emergency equipment. Ensures customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service. Maintains current knowledge and skills appropriate for all age groups. Serves as a preceptor by training new team members on services and initiatives. Available to take call if required.
