The Jockey Driver is responsible for safely moving trailers within the facility yard to support efficient loading, unloading, and staging of freight. This role involves operating yard trucks (also known as hostlers or spotters), positioning trailers at docks, and coordinating with warehouse and transportation teams to maintain smooth yard flow. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. Education: High school diploma or GED required; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience / Qualifications: 1. Must have a CDL Class A license. 2. 1–2 years of experience operating yard trucks, spotters, or similar equipment preferred 3. Prior experience in warehouse, distribution, or transportation environments is a plus 4. Familiarity with yard safety protocols and trailer spotting procedures 5. Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces and around loading docks 6. Experience using two-way radios, yard management systems (YMS), or similar tools helpful 7. Understanding of basic vehicle inspections and reporting mechanical issues 8. Comfortable working in outdoor conditions and in all weather Duties and Responsibilities: Food safety is the responsibility of every employee. Any issues should be brought to the immediate attention of area supervisor or manager. 1. Safely operate Jockey Truck and forklift. 2. Unload and load beans for production runs. 3. Unload all miscellaneous items such as pallets, cartons and other warehouse supplies. 4. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned that fall within the physical demands of this position. 5. Must supply production with beans from the freight station and bean building 6. filling out staging sheets correctly. 7. Receive dry beans and paste, making sure paperwork is filled out correctly. 8. Maintain a positive teamwork atmosphere by actions, communicating and helping co-workers 9. Operate backhoe. 10. Unload the train cars of beans and paste. 11. Fill propane bottles for forklifts. 12. Operate a plow to move snow and spread salt in the winter if needed. Skills and Abilities: 1. Must have the ability to acquire a forklift operator license. 2. Enjoy a variety of work on a day-to-day basis. 3. Very cooperative and flexible attitude, willing to do any job that is assigned. 4. Have the ability to get jobs done quickly and efficiently, knowing what needs to be done, finding work or asking what needs to be done next. Typically, Monday through Friday.
