Job Description

Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking an HVAC Controls Engineer in Ogden, UT to design, program, and commission building automation systems for commercial facilities. Impact • Deliver optimized building performance through advanced control strategies • Support energy efficiency goals by implementing intelligent HVAC control solutions • Enable facility operations through user-friendly automation interfaces • Drive client satisfaction with reliable, scalable control system designs Responsibilities • Design building automation system architectures and control sequences • Program DDC controllers using platforms like Tridium Niagara or Distech • Commission HVAC control systems and verify proper operation • Create graphics and user interfaces for building operators • Integrate controls with mechanical systems and third-party equipment • Troubleshoot system issues and provide technical support • Coordinate with mechanical engineers and contractors on system requirements • Document system configurations and provide operator training Requirements Must-Haves • 3+ years of building automation or controls engineering experience • Proficiency with BAS platforms such as Tridium, Distech, Siemens, or JCI • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control theory • Experience with DDC programming and network communications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Nice-to-Haves • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification • Experience with BACnet, Modbus, and LON protocols • Knowledge of energy management and optimization strategies • Familiarity with LEED requirements and sustainable building practices Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, PTO, holidays, and professional development.
