Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, providing compassionate and expert respiratory care in a critical access hospital setting with advanced trauma and cardiac services. This role offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive respiratory therapy to adult and geriatric patients, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation. Job Summary As an Advanced Respiratory Therapist, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory treatments under physician orders, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality, patient-centered care. You will manage respiratory equipment, conduct pulmonary function tests, and participate in discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on home care and therapy continuation. Key Responsibilities Provide timely and compassionate respiratory care, interpreting evaluations and test results to develop and administer treatment plans. Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary. Lead and direct respiratory therapy aides and technicians. Contribute to policy development, staff training, and quality improvement initiatives. Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning. Education and Experience Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience. Licenses and Certifications Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license in Washington State. Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required at hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within one year. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical practices. Ability to assess and tailor treatments for patients across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations. Proficient in using respiratory therapy equipment and electronic medical records. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with healthcare teams, patients, and families. Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and organizational abilities. Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying of equipment up to 35 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting. The role requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and demands normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities, with or without corrective devices. Work Schedule 0.9 Full-Time Equivalent, 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, totaling 40 hours per week.
