The Actuary Consultant role requires an experienced actuarial professional (6+ years) with advanced credentials such as ACAS/FCAS or equivalent. The position focuses heavily on P&C insurance, state filing processes, actuarial analysis, pricing, trend evaluation, and regulatory interaction with Departments of Insurance (DOI). The consultant must be able to independently manage complex projects, apply actuarial methodologies, and clearly communicate technical insights to diverse audiences including management and executives. Key Qualifications Education & Credentials ACAS or FCAS designation (or equivalent from another actuarial society). Bachelors degree or an additional 5 years of actuarial/analytical experience beyond the minimum requirement. Experience Minimum 6+ years of actuarial, analytical, or business-related experience. Strong background in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. State Filing experience, especially for personal lines, is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in actuarial/statistical techniques used in decision-making. Technical Skills Proficiency with actuarial tools and statistical modeling methods. Intermediate skills in Python, SQL, data visualization, and analytical querying. Ability to interpret external market insights and apply them to business problems. Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex analysis for both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Roles & Responsibilities State Filing & Regulatory Duties Manage and execute assigned state filing processes. Develop, revise, and justify rates; perform trend analysis; prepare filings for DOI. Collaborate with the Lead Actuary for signoffs and respond to DOI inquiries or objections. Actuarial & Analytical Responsibilities Apply advanced actuarial methodologies to complex and unstructured projects. Select and validate data for trend analysis and rate indication models. Convert business problems into technical requirements; run models and interpret results. Ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance in all actuarial work products. Strategic & CrossFunctional Responsibilities Identify gaps in compliance or processes; propose and develop improvements. Act as a subject matter expert in unit initiatives and crossfunctional teams. Provide clear, compelling communication of findings to teams and leadership. Synthesize complex or conflicting information into a coherent business value proposition. Maintain strong risk management practices in accordance with company policies. Salary Range - $130,000 to $230,000 per year TCS Employee Benefits Summary: Discretionary Annual Incentive.
