Summary/Objective: This FIELD Engineer (FE) role is a technical field professional responsible for conduction building surveys throughout the country with the objective of designing Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) systems for the design, specification, and sale of ERCES solutions. This role bridges the gap between sales, engineering, and the project management office (PMO) to provide technically sound, scalable, and compliant security designs that align with customer requirements and business objectives. This role will work very closely with the APSS DAS Coordinator. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in IP-based security systems with the ability to communicate value clearly to end users, consultants, and internal teams. RF experience is a major advantage. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement System (ERCES) design surveys. This is the primary function for this role. This job requires building RF survey tests in PCTel's Seehawk Central product, booking travel to different survey locations and setting up the Scanning Receiver test set to conduct building surveys to assess RF signal availability for first responders during mission critical events. Test results are then shared with the team for design purposes. This will require significant travel throughout the country. Specific responsibilities include: Receive verified project inputs from the Sales Engineer. Build and configure Seehawk test plans. Plan travel and deployment logistics with a focus on efficiency and cost control. Review test builds with the Sales Engineer prior to deployment. Execute on-site DAS surveys, testing, and commissioning. Develop system layouts, network requirements, and device specifications Create detailed bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and technical proposals as needed Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts Serve as the technical subject matter expert during customer meetings and bid responses Support RFP/RFQ responses with compliant, competitive system designs Collaborate with project management and implementation teams to ensure successful handoff to DAS Coordinator Maintain awareness of ERCES industry standards, codes, low-voltage security trends product offerings, firmware, licensing, and best practices Competencies: Excellent professional communication and organizational skills. Work Environment/Physical Demands: This job operates in an off-site, customer facing location with the main office in Little Rock AR. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, fax machines and copy machines. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday 8-5, during normal hours of operation. This position may also require occasional weekend work. Travel: Ability to travel up to 80% of the work week for customer meetings, site surveys, and demos. Needs to able to coordinate and schedule their own travel as well. Required Education, Experience & Abilities: Ability to read architectural drawings and create security system layouts Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable presenting technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications: Experience designing and selling enterprise or commercial security systems Hands-on experience with the Seehawk Central platform RF certifications to include FCC GROL and NICET IB-PSC levels I-III Avigilon certifications (or willingness to obtain) Experience with related systems (intercom, intrusion, identity management) Familiarity with vertical markets such as education, healthcare, government, or enterprise Prior experience working for a systems integrator Other Duties: Please note this position may be assigned other duties.
