This role is ideal for an experienced installer who thrives in commercial environments and enjoys working with structured cabling, IP video surveillance, access control systems, and integrated low-voltage technologies. You will play a critical role in delivering high-performance security and cabling systems for commercial clients while working in a collaborative, career-focused environment that values craftsmanship, accountability, and professional development. Our Core Values:Caliber - Quality of character and craftsmanship Collaboration - Strong team-driven environment Accountability - Deliver on commitments Loyalty - Stand by our clients and services Integrity - Operate with the highest ethical standards Excellence - Deliver top-tier service and results Respect - High regard for team members and clients Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, CCTV/IP video surveillance systems, alarms, and integrated low-voltage systems Run low-voltage cabling; terminate, test, label, and troubleshoot wiring according to industry standards Install strikes, card readers, motion detectors, glass break sensors, magnetic locks, and door contacts Configure NVRs, servers, and network equipment; ensure proper device communication and system integration Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics Test and verify network and security devices while ensuring compliance with safety and cybersecurity standards Provide professional client support, explain system functionality, and offer user training as needed Respond to on-call service requests and manage multiple project priorities efficiently Work safely at heights, in confined spaces, and lift heavy equipment as required Qualifications Prior experience in commercial structured cabling or low-voltage systems installation Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and cable testers Ability to troubleshoot and integrate security systems into client networks Experience interpreting technical drawings and schematics Physical ability to lift 50-80 lbs and work on ladders or at heights Willingness to work occasional nights, weekends, or travel for project needs Preferred (Training Provided if Needed): BICSI or manufacturer certifications NEC (National Electrical Code) knowledge Fiber optic termination (mechanical or fusion splice) Experience with AXIS, Genetec, LenelS2, or Milestone systems OSHA safety training Benefits Competitive hourly compensation: $33.00 - $38.50/hour Semi-annual performance bonuses Health insurance and supplemental coverage options 401(k) with employer match 6 paid holidays and Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid certifications and ongoing professional development Career advancement opportunities Company vehicle and fleet card Company-provided cell phone and PCS gear Work Schedule Full-Time Monday through Friday Occasional nights, weekends, and on-call rotation as project demands require Work Location Based out of Troy, MI Primary work performed at commercial job sites throughout Southeast Michigan Occasional regional travel may be required depending on project scope Equal Employment Opportunity We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
