Current licensure, or eligibility for licensure, to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky Job Summary The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking an accomplished Associate Professor or Professor to serve as the Endowed Chair of Pediatric Diabetes Research within the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Endocrinology. This prestigious faculty appointment offers an exceptional opportunity to lead innovative diabetes research and advance pediatric clinical care in collaboration with the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center (BBDC). The endowed chair will play a key leadership role within the BBDC, guiding the integration of clinical and research efforts, and contributing to the growth of pediatric endocrinology at UK. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the use of emerging technologies in diabetes management, such as advanced insulin delivery systems and artificial intelligence. There is also an option for an administrative leadership role within the BBDC's clinical operations. Responsibilities: The selected candidate will: Advance basic, translational, or clinical diabetes research within the Division of Endocrinology. Foster collaborative research efforts aligned with the BBDC. Provide both in-person and remote clinical care for children and adolescents with endocrine disorders. Serve as an attending physician, supervising students and residents in inpatient and outpatient settings. Contribute to the education and mentorship of medical learners. Participate in on-call coverage for the pediatric endocrinology service. Qualifications: Clinical degree (MD, DO, MD/PhD, or MBBS). Board eligible or certified in Pediatric Endocrinology. Eligible for academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Demonstrated record of research productivity and academic leadership. About the Division and the BBDC: The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is currently staffed by five pediatric endocrinologists and two Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. As part of the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center, the division works closely with both the adult endocrinology clinic and the outpatient diabetes education facility. The division also houses the Barnstable Brown Pediatric Diabetes Research Laboratory, supporting ongoing translational and basic science research efforts.
