As a Speech Language Pathologist in the vibrant atmosphere of Kansas City, Missouri, your contributions will extend far beyond diagnosing communication and swallowing disorders. You'll enable individuals of all ages to express their thoughts, restore their confidence, and strengthen the vital connections that allow them to engage fully in life-from children forming their first sentences to the elderly rediscovering their independence. Embrace this rare opportunity to impact a diverse array of clients across the lifespan within a dynamic setting that integrates outpatient therapy with sporadic inpatient services. Whether you're passionate about assisting young children with speech delays, navigating adult impairments due to neurological conditions, or offering rehabilitation for seniors facing cognitive challenges, you will find a rewarding and flexible role here. Description Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standard assessments and meticulous observational methods. Craft individualized treatment plans targeting both immediate and long-run goals for communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Deliver engaging one-on-one speech therapy sessions that concentrate on aspects such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to develop unified care approaches. Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families to support ongoing progress beyond therapy sessions. Occasionally perform inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless care throughout the treatment process. Uphold accurate and timely documentation compliant with state, federal, and organizational regulations. Engage in continuous professional development through education and collaborative discussions with peers. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first month of employment. Skills Deep understanding of evidence-based treatment practices for all age groups and comprehensive knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional ability to communicate and connect with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Skilled in adapting therapeutic techniques to meet an array of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Demonstrated clinical judgment and ability to troubleshoot effectively. Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation practices. Benefits Competitive salary that reflects your experience and expertise. Flexible work schedules that promote a healthy work-life balance and accommodate diverse caseloads. Paths to specialize in pediatrics, adult neurological rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance choices. Support for continuing education and professional growth initiatives. A collaborative, innovative environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care and fostering lifelong learning. A Journey That Transforms Lives - and Yours As a Speech Language Pathologist here, you're not just facilitating therapy sessions. You're becoming part of an inspiring community dedicated to restoring communication, strengthening connections, and fostering joy through simple yet profound human interactions: listening and understanding. Within our team, you'll find a family-like atmosphere that values collaboration over mere competition. Every patient brings a unique story, and we're eager for you to help narrate it.
