General Summary The MRI-CT Technologist delivers patient services using magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography equipment, creating detailed exam records for radiologist interpretation. This role may also support other medical imaging areas as trained. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Exhibits flexibility in scheduling, punctuality, and availability while performing well under pressure. Communicates complex information clearly, prioritizes and organizes multiple tasks efficiently, and collaborates effectively with healthcare staff and physicians. Provides personal care and safe patient transfers using adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts and sliding boards. Demonstrates strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to compliance standards. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Keeps patients and their families informed about exam progress and responds promptly to patient needs. Performs MRI and CT procedures following departmental policies and regulatory guidelines, accurately interprets physician orders, assists with record maintenance, and ensures patient safety. Education Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program is required. Prior MRI training is preferred. Experience At least three years of experience as a Radiology Technologist is required. One year of experience as a registered MRI technologist is preferred. Experience as a multi-modality technologist is also preferred. Certification/License Must be a registered MRI technologist (RT(MR)) with ARRT certification. Candidates cross-training must agree to attempt registry within 30 days and pass within 90 days of eligibility. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required. Mental/Physical Requirements Requires close mental and visual attention for extended periods. Frequently works under stressful conditions due to patient needs and critical situations. Must be able to move throughout the department and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs., turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping. Working Conditions Potential exposure to infectious diseases, unpleasant odors, anesthetics, disinfectants, chemicals, and controlled radiation. May be subject to on-call duties and varied shifts to ensure effective service delivery.
