Job Description Title: Associate Credit Representative - Debt Collector Location: Naperville, IL (Hybrid) Job Type: Contract (6 months) Compensation: $18.00-25.00/hr W2 Industry: Chemical Manufacturing --- About the Role We are seeking an experienced Associate Credit Representative (Debt Collector) to support our client, a global leader in water treatment, hygiene solutions, and sustainability technologies. This organization serves commercial and industrial customers worldwide, requiring strong, reliable credit and collections operations to support complex B2B partnerships. In this role, you will work closely with customers to resolve delinquent accounts, provide accurate account updates, and support overall credit department operations. The position begins onsite and transitions to a hybrid schedule after training. Job Description As an Associate Credit Representative, you will be responsible for locating, contacting, and working with customers to resolve overdue accounts. You will review account information, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate repayment or recovery actions as needed. Your responsibilities will include: Receiving and posting customer payments accurately. Locating and monitoring overdue accounts and account activity. Contacting customers via phone, email, or in-person communication to determine reasons for delinquency. Reviewing sales terms, service agreements, or credit contract details with customers. Negotiating and persuading customers to resolve outstanding balances. Logging dispute cases and escalating when appropriate. Establishing or adjusting repayment schedules based on customer financial status. Maintaining accurate documentation and detailed account records. Collaborating with internal teams-including Sales and Customer Service-to resolve account issues. Qualifications Required Qualifications: 3+ years of accounts receivable and/or collections experience, preferably in a B2B environment. Strong collection skills with proven results. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Experience with: Accounting ledgers and account lookup Customer portals (including downloading documents/payment information) Coding and managing customer and internal (Sales team) communications B2B collections processes Ability to manage time effectively and work independently. Strong documentation and record-keeping accuracy. Experience using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general collections or financial software. High school diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SAP. Background in account reconciliations. Familiarity with customer portals and self-service payment platforms. Additional Excel functions/skills.
