District Office Start Date: To be determined Full-time, Permanent SALARY: State and local salary based on education experience. For approximate salary, see salary tables:BENEFITS: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in the State of Delaware First State Financials (FSF) accounting system. Experience in the State of Delaware School Child Nutrition processes, procedures and reporting requirements. Strong Financial Accounting and Audit experience. Experience in QuickBooks QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma with training in business education skills as part of your high school program; or, post high school business and accounting training. Knowledge and/or experience with computerized payroll, QuickBooks, and the PCS revenue control system. Knowledge of federal, state and local accounting and audit requirements. Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and staff. Effective written and oral communication skills. Must have completed support staff application packet, letter of interest and current resume on file prior to closing date JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is part of the Child Nutrition team. The incumbent is responsible for the effective, efficient and accurate performance of assigned job functions. The incumbent is responsible for all financial related matters within the unit. REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Child Nutrition JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is part of the Child Nutrition Services team. The incumbent is responsible for the effective, efficient and accurate performance of assigned job functions. The incumbent will also serve as the point of contact for staff and/or assigned operating units. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Review and process various types of financial transactions in the FSF accounting system related to job assignments Preparation of various reports related to job assignments Prepare and Reconcile department accounts as assigned (e.g., invoices, receipts, daily deposits, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining accurate balances and complying with district accounting practices in QuickBooks or similar software program Serve as a liaison to district staff and/or operating units as assigned Prepare/process/review supporting documentation related to district procurement activities Provide guidance and support related to internal account financial transactions for assigned operating units Process documents and materials (e.g. free and reduced meal applications, applications chosen for verification, food orders, work orders, purchase order requisitions, quotes for supplies and equipment, Personnel Action forms, schedules, agendas, mail, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring compliance with financial, legal and administrative requirements and disseminating information to appropriate parties. Provide professional customer service and respond in a timely manner to inquiries of staff, the public, parents and/or students for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required. Process reimbursements, ordering and distribution of department supplies for the purpose of acquiring necessary resources to support department operations. Serves as backup to other Business Office team members, as necessary Participate and/or provide supporting information for internal and/or external audits. Other duties as assigned.
