The practitioner conducts comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develops and manages individualized treatment plans, prescribes psychotropic medications, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life. Qualifications: Education and Licensure: • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program. • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) by the ANCC. • Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner(AGPCNP-BC) Preferred • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN)Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and license in the state of practice. • Prescriptive authority and DEA registration (or eligibility) Experience: • Minimum 3-5 years of experience providing psychiatric care; geriatric psychiatry experience strongly preferred. • Experience in settings such as inpatient psychiatry, skilled nursing, assisted living, or outpatient geriatric programs is highly desirable.
