Purchasing / Procurement Manager

Upholstery Manufacturing - High Point, NC Overview We are seeking an experienced Purchasing / Procurement Manager to join our upholstery manufacturing facility in North Carolina and take ownership of all purchasing and vendor-related activities for the factory. This is a hands-on, on-site role critical to daily operations. The factory is actively producing upholstery for commercial and residential clients and is in the process of strengthening systems, structure, and execution. We are looking for someone who can bring organization, discipline, and strong vendor management to the purchasing function. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working closely with operations and production leadership. Key Responsibilities Manage all purchasing and procurement for the factory Source and procure raw materials, components, parts, and supplies Work directly with vendors on pricing, availability, lead times, and terms Maintain accurate purchasing records, POs, and inventory coordination Partner with operations and production teams to forecast material needs Ensure materials are available to support production schedules Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality or reliability Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships Help implement and improve purchasing processes and controls Ideal Candidate Profile Prior experience in purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment Experience sourcing materials, components, and supplies (furniture or upholstery preferred) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast-paced factory environment Clear communicator with vendors and internal teams Process-oriented and reliable, with strong follow-through Experience supporting production schedules and inventory planning This role is well-suited for someone who understands how purchasing directly impacts production flow and customer delivery.
