Job Description Join Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as a Cloud Solutions Architect within the Chief Technical Architect Office, where you can take a central role in defining the architectural vision for transformative cloud services that operate on a global scale. This position requires not just technical prowess but a deep understanding of distributed systems and the ability to influence engineering practices across diverse teams. In this role, you will work closely with senior engineering leaders at various levels, including VPs, SVPs, and EVPs, serving as a trusted technical advisor. Your expertise will drive the evolution of platform strategies and ensure OCI delivers highly reliable, scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud services for our internal teams and external customers. Responsibilities Design innovative cloud services that prioritize reliability, scalability, performance, security, and global accessibility. Create key architectural patterns and frameworks for operational aspects like control planes and observability. Lead collaborative engineering projects that span multiple teams, influencing hundreds of engineers within OCI. Ensure operational excellence for our services, focusing on maintaining high performance at scale. Encourage technical collaboration across Product, SRE, Security, and partner engineering teams to align on common goals. Mentor technical leaders and senior engineers to uplift architectural quality and engineering standards. Guide long-term platform strategies that contribute to OCI's vision for cloud infrastructure. Candidate Profile Significant experience in architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems. A proven ability to influence senior engineering leadership and product stakeholders. Strong skills in systems design with a talent for simplifying complex architectures. Deep knowledge of reliability engineering, performance tuning, and cloud service design. Excellent communication skills with an ability to present ideas effectively to executives. Experience leading l cross-departmental engineering initiatives successfully. Required Qualifications 8-12+ years of progressive software engineering experience and leadership. Expertise in architecting large-scale distributed systems, ideally within cloud infrastructure. A solid background in messaging, streaming, or event-driven architectures. Hands-on experience in building high-performance services, including API design. Ability to manage complex, multi-team engineering projects effectively. Strong communication skills to influence executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience with hyperscale or large-scale cloud environments such as Oracle, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Leadership experience managing engineering teams of over 100 individuals. A comprehensive understanding of cloud security, DevOps, SRE, and modern distributed systems. Prior involvement with services that cater to both internal and external developers within a cloud platform. This position offers a competitive salary range of $136,600 to $338,500 per year, with bonus and equity opportunities.
