Transform Lives Through Communication in Beautiful California - Join Us as a Speech Language PathologistOverview Imagine a career where every word you help to unearth brings profound meaning and joy to someone's life. As a Speech Language Pathologist in the picturesque setting of Long Beach, your role extends far beyond merely treating speech and swallowing disorders. You will have the remarkable privilege of unlocking potential, restoring self-assurance, and nurturing connections - from the tiny voices of children learning to speak, to seniors aspiring for greater independence. This is an extraordinary role that allows you to touch the lives of individuals from all stages of life. With a focus that balances outpatient therapy alongside occasional inpatient responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse environment that caters to various specialties. Whether your heart lies in pediatric speech development, adult neurogenic communication recovery, or geriatric cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, this position promises both fulfillment and flexibility. Description Conduct patient evaluations for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations utilizing established assessments and observational strategies. Create tailored treatment strategies that emphasize both immediate goals and enduring communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Implement individualized speech therapy sessions with a focus on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members, to formulate comprehensive care strategies. Provide education to patients and families to guarantee sustained progress beyond the clinic. Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care throughout the treatment process. Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation that adheres to all state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay informed about the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and teamwork. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is pending. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of start date. Skills Expertise in evidence-based intervention strategies for all age groups, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to modify therapy approaches to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Proficient in using electronic medical records and meeting documentation requirements. Benefits Competitive salary reflective of experience. Flexible hours to help maintain a perfect work-life balance with varied patient caseloads. Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult neuro rehab, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options available. Financial support for continuing education and professional advancement. Collaborative work atmosphere focused on high-quality care and continual learning. A Journey That Resonates with You - and Moves Others In this role, you won't just be providing clinical services - you'll engage in a shared vision to help restore voices and enhance communication, cultivating joy through the essential human interactions of understanding and being understood. You will join a close-knit team that fosters camaraderie, valuing collective achievements more than competition. Each patient's journey is unique; we rely on your expertise to help narrate their story effectively. Why This Location Will Inspire You Life in Long Beach seamlessly blends the vibrant energy of urban living with coastal tranquility. Picture yourself enjoying the picturesque shoreline, where the azure waves softly kiss the sands while you bask in the warm California sun. Someone who envisions every client as a canvas waiting to be painted with the colors of self-expression and determination, ready to assist little ones in finding their voice and adults in reclaiming theirs. You might be based in pediatrics with aspirations to transition into adult speech services, or perhaps your expertise lies in neuro-based therapies, eager to incorporate early intervention strategies into practice. Whatever your focus may be, if you're prepared to serve with empathy and lead with skill, we would love to have you onboard. Let's Create Meaningful Connections - Together If you understand that speech goes beyond mere sounds and therapy transcends tasks; if you believe in forging trust before conquering goals; if laughter intertwines with language - then this might be your next career chapter. Join us in a community that honors communication, connection, and the boldness it takes to start anew. Apply today to lend your voice to our cause - and empower others to discover theirs.
