Electrical Engineer – CommunicationsOTTO – designed, manufactured and precision tested, right here in the USA.OTTO's opportunity:Our Electrical Engineer will design circuitry for Communications and Power Management Products. Working on concept through production product development, as well as participate in the technical resolution of field and production issues. Prior experience in portable (battery powered) electronics, analog, audio, and digital circuitry is desired. Degree of supervision required to perform job duties should not exceed 40%.Specifically, the Electrical Engineer will : Analog/Digital circuit design, prototyping, and performance evaluation to meet customer and/or internal specificationsComponent specification and selectionGenerate schematics, bills-of-material (BOMs), and provide PCB layout guidanceEvaluate and document product performance to customer specificationsTechnical sales supportDetermine production test requirementsAssist Production to validate test equipment as neededOngoing support of existing productsCoordinate with Mechanical Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and SalesMaintain required engineering documentation: schematics, BOM's, ECN's, drawings, layoutsAssist with other related duties as required or assigned What you'll need to bring to the table: BSEEMinimum of 2 year of experience in concept-through-production product developmentAudio and Analog circuit design experience (OpAmps, Filters, Transistor Circuitry, Codecs, Power Supplies, etc)Digital and microprocessor circuit design experiencePrior Experience with Portable (battery operated) products is a plusSchematic Entry (Altium experience is a plus)Some embedded coding experience is a plusEMC and ESD Compliance, and Intrinsically Safe (UL, ATEX, FM) circuit experience a plusExperience using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Self-motivated, proactiveCompletes work and communicate issues and status in a timely fashionAttention to detail, results-oriented problem solver, critical thinkerStrong oral and written communication skills OTTO's Benefits: Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k) with a company matchLife Insurance BenefitsCompetitive PayProfit Sharing BonusPaid Vacation and HolidaysCompany PicnicHoliday PartyAND numerous OTTO celebrations throughout the year!
