Job Description

The Welder is responsible for completing welding assignments with limited supervision and interpreting job specifications to ensure accurate alignment, dimensions, and inspections. Your work will require precision, technical skill, and attention to detail, as errors may not be immediately visible and can impact labor or material costs. This role follows our Company's Six Sigma principles to support quality and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities Review written or verbal job orders and interpret welding specifications, code requirements, and inspection criteria. Set up and position weldments using fixtures, jigs, and various welding techniques, materials, and equipment. Perform welding and related tasks including surface preparation, thermal cutting, and grinding. Inspect welds and welded surfaces to ensure proper bonding and structural integrity. Maintain a clean and safe work area and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools. Follow safe work practices and support company standards for quality and efficiency. Required Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of standard welding principles and techniques, including TIG and MIG welding. Ability to read and interpret weld specifications, shop drawings, blueprints, and job layouts. Proficiency with basic math, measuring tools, gauges, and templates. Understanding of the working properties of structural metals and welding materials. Skill in operating and maintaining welding equipment and related tools. Strong awareness of occupational hazards and safe work practices. Effective communication skills and ability to work well with team members. Experience & Education Experience: Minimum of 3 years of general welding experience required. Education: Formal apprenticeship training preferred but not required.
