The role demands in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations regarding vulnerable adult abuse, social work principles, and issues affecting the elderly and persons with disabilities.Minimum QualificationsSix years of social services experience; ORSix years of full-time work experience plus three years of social services experience; ORA bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; ORA master's degree in social work, a social science, education, counseling or vocational rehabilitation plus two years of social services experience.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be foundhere (.Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties: Provided direct-line supervision of Adult Protection Specialist through supervisory conferences, case staffing, etc. Interprets and oversees compliance with agency, state, and federal policies, such as HIPAA and confidentiality policies. Responsible for file maintenance. Conducts educational presentations or in-service trainings for community groups, agencies, providers, etc., on adult abuse, neglect, exploitation, and extortion on the role of Adult Protection Services. Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: ProbationaryCompensation: Hazardous Duty-Premium Pay: $2 per hour, for only hours worked, is authorized for all Adult Protection positions for hazardous duty. Tiered Longevity-Premium Pay: up to $2 per hour. All eligible full-time classified employees will receive the following for only hours worked based on the current length of employment with the Governor’s Office of Elderly Affairs.
