Amazing Culture, Thriving Company, Terrific Opportunity.For more information on who we are and what we do, please visit our website at Summary: As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Service Technician, you'll work with assigned customers to perform prompt and complete diagnostics, assessments, maintenance, and repairs of Railcar Mover cars, large capacity lift trucks, and other heavy-duty equipment while making every effort to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. This technician will report to one specific branch but will serve customers in the Muncie area. Technician Responsibilities: Provide industry leading customer satisfaction. Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other employees. Diagnose repairs for railcar mover cars, large capacity lift trucks, other heavy-duty equipment, and other identified products as clearly and specifically requested by the customer, using a laptop computer, experience, manuals, and other industry sources. Assess the need for additional repairs or maintenance, and document and communicate findings and potential solutions with supervisor and customer. Make repairs accurately and timely with minimum required call-backs or re-work. Perform warranty repairs and complete related documents as instructed by the company and the supervisor. Keep supervisor advised of job progress, delays, changes, status, etc. Thoroughly and neatly document information related to the job and your work. Submit documentation in a timely manner, as required by the company, supervisor, and customers. Accurately account for all labor hours on work order and daily timecard and submit as required by management. Accurately account for all parts and supplies on work order tickets, PM sheets, etc. Provide the parts, service, and sales departments the needed information to provide the right solutions for the job. Ensure the service van is clean, neat, and well-maintained at all times, and maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, customer facilities, and shop. Maintain company tools in working order and return them to their proper place in the shop after use. Keep up to date with new equipment and advances in diagnostic techniques and repairs. Help increase business by making customer calls. Active participation in weekly safety calls/meetings and safety program. Adhere to all Company Policies and Work Rules. Perform all other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: A technical background with at least 5 years demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing heavy truck, railcar movers, and diesel equipment. Working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, fuel systems, charging systems are a plus. Demonstrated ability to operate a large crane truck. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Personal ownership of tools to complete required tasks. Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to complete paperwork timely and accurately. Professional and courteous customer relations skills and phone etiquette. Proficient computer skills or the aptitude and willingness to learn how to use a computer and software. Meet the physical requirements of a service technician. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Positive attitude and ability to successfully work in a team environment. Functional capacity to cope with pressure, multiple projects, and frequent interruptions. Ability and willingness to travel overnight and be on call. Regular and prompt attendance.
