Company: Marin General Hospital dba MarinHealth Medical Center Compensation Range: $75.03 - $75.03 Work Shift: 8 Hour (days) (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Job Description Summary: Under general supervision, to perform a variety of routines, and skilled maintenance duties in the repair, alteration and modification of buildings, equipment and facilities. Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions: Job Specifications: Education: High school graduate/Apprenticeship Program or equivalent Experience: Air conditioning/refrigeration High pressure steam boilers HVAC systems Electrical devices, wiring and circuits, signal and lighting systems Basic computer Basic welding, soldering License and Certifications: Calif Drivers Class C Required at hire Prerequisite Skills: Knowledge of all mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems as they relate to a hospital environment. Ability to work with others and follow instructions, both written and verbal. Participate in continuing education provided by departmental, vendor and hospital staff. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record with no violations within the past (3) years. Primary Customer Served (Age Specific Criteria): This position is not a patient care position, and as such, this section does not apply. Patient Privacy (HIPAA Compliance): Employees in this position do not have access to protected health information. Duties And Responsibilities: Essential (Not Modifiable) Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation and working condition; maintains routine records and determines type and extent of malfunction of equipment and, as necessary, adjusts, disassembles and repairs or replaces parts or components; then reassembles and tests for proper operation. Reports more serious problems to Chief or Assistant Chief Engineer for instructions or maintenance scheduling May install, service and make repairs to heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, radiators, thermostats, dampers, and regulating controls; replace filters and fluids as necessary; and maintain routine records of repairs, etc. Performs a variety of general semiskilled to skilled maintenance, alteration and repairs to machinery, equipment, or facilities as assigned or in accordance with basic skills and abilities, and standard procedures, diagrams, or manufacturer's instructions, such as the following: Routine electrical maintenance, replacement or alteration of circuit wiring, switches, control equipment and mechanisms, motors, transformers, relays, generators, appliances, fixtures, alarms, communication equipment, etc. General mechanical maintenance of hospital and clinical equipment, kitchen equipment, office machines and equipment, etc. Normally excludes specialized and highly technical x-ray and surgical equipment requiring specialized training, experience, and equipment General plumbing maintenance, repair and alterations to steam, gas, water, air, and sanitary plumbing pipes and fixtures. Bend, cut, ream, and thread pipe, test joints and pipe systems for leaks. Repair and replace valves, repair leaks, and clear drain stoppages General welding - welding, cutting, joining metals not requiring critical testing tolerance or certification A variety of routine maintenance duties such as repair and assembling extension cords, replacing fuses, fluorescent ballasts and tubes, clean and lubricate motors and other machinery. Clean sink and grease traps, replace and repack valves, assemble equipment, repair drape pull mechanisms and related items Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required, such as moving supplies, furniture, equipment, removing trash, scrap material and replacing light bulbs Establishes and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with other personnel, patients and the public Notes: The duties listed are representative for the job classification of Stationary Engineer and the specific duties of any one position may vary depending on work assignments.
