The Quality Assurance Intern is responsible to monitor, sample, and test materials to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards. This position requires effective communication with management and other departments. Hours for this position: 8:00am-4:30pm (Monday-Friday) This is an on-site position located in Conestoga, PA. Follow established protocol for out of specification results. Work with and assist customer departments to maintain the quality of our products. Maintain proper documentation of lab test results in lab data management system and on necessary paperwork, as required. Calibrate lab equipment as required. Obtain samples using proper aseptic methods. Review and evaluate Operations and QA documentation for accuracy and completion. Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety & Quality. You could be a great fit if you have these things - Must be at least 18 years of age Must be enrolled in a degree program Must have meticulous attention to detail Must work in a team environment Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, ending, lunch, and break schedules Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles Perform all other duties as assigned Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the internship. The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required) The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8+ hours The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment. Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus Ability to lift 50 pounds and/or push/pull 50 pounds on a regular or occasional basis This job description is not all encompassing, however, is intended to be a general description of the essential functions of this position.
