Click here for job description ATHLETICS & AQUATICS ASSISTANT - Parks & Recreation - Recreation JOB SUMMARY: Under direction of the Aquatics and Athletics Manager, provide quality customer service and assist in an administrative role to enhance the operation and functionality of all city sponsored athletic and aquatic programs. Including, but not limited to: city's organized sports leagues, summer aquatics program, Richardson Corporate Challenge, and work with various organizations and corporations as needed. Perform other related work as required. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Directly supervise seasonal cashier staff, accounting process, weekly scheduling, and customer service protocol. Manage accounting duties for five seasonal aquatic facilities including, but not limited to: preparing and balancing daily bank deposits, correlating z-tape with daily cash reports, noting and reporting all accounting mistakes to the Aquatics and Athletics Manager. Update scores and manage athletics standings on the current league management system and coordinate end of season award distribution. Manage softball equipment and inventory; place orders as needed. Utilize basic computer skills to complete swim membership purchases, book swim reservations, and process other recreation/athletics registrations as needed. Assist the Aquatic and Athletics Manager in organizing and logging seasonal staff payroll. Communicate courteously and effectively, verbally and in writing, with customers, general public, and all other city employees and officials. Coordinate with youth and adult partnered athletic associations to book athletic field reservations. Display sound judgement and make effective, timely decisions. Effectively answer phone calls and return messages pertaining to Athletics and Aquatics programs. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: May perform necessary functions in other divisions including, but not limited to: Corporate Challenge event coordination and staff support, and Corporate Recreation liaison. May be required to carry, push, pull, drag, or hold objects up to 30 pounds. REQUIRED EDUCATION, DEGREES, CERTIFICATES, AND/OR LICENSES: High School Diploma or GED is required. Texas Driver's License, Class C is required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in recreation, or a field related to Athletics or Aquatics is preferred. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS: Two years of experience in a recreation/athletic setting, with working knowledge of municipal or other agency operations is preferred. Good customer service and communication skills are required. Must have the ability to get along well with people; leadership skills and abilities; good working knowledge of athletics (fundamentals and rules), recreational programming, and other recreational elements. Must be able to: operate a calculator and personal computer; communicate effectively in writing and orally; and conduct various studies as required. Ability to understand and communicate in Spanish is preferred. Number of available positions: 1 High School Diploma or GED is required. Texas Driver's License, Class C is required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree with a specialization in recreation, or a field related to Athletics or Aquatics is preferred.
