A Specialist must hold a license issued by the State of Indiana in Occupational Therapy covering all grades. Occupational TherapistReports To: GLASS Supervisor overseeing OT Department Classification: Certified Qualifications: Licensed OT in Indiana; Master's Degree Terms of Employment: 191 Days per LSC Calendar/Contract/40 Hours per week Evaluation: Annually by GLASS Supervisor Compensation: $33/Hour - Based on School Experience Benefits: Medical Package Leave Days: 10 sick, 7 Family, 3 Personal, 5 Bereavement, 2 Funeral Job Description Occupational Therapists work directly with staff to provide supports that allow access and function within the school setting. They will determine a potential need for an evaluation for related services through occupational therapy. They will make recommendations to teams on an individual basis to determine the level of service each student needs on an individual basis. Lastly, they will document their treatments within the Medicaid documentation program for billing purposes according to the guidelines listed in the Medicaid Toolkit. Responsibilities Provide evaluations for students to assess strengths and needs as it pertains to function and the ability to participate in school tasks. Provide written and verbal reports, collaboration, and teamwork within the case conference setting Provide direct therapy as it relates to education. Provide consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators concerning the strengths and needs of individual students as it relates to education. The ability to design, fabricate, and adapt materials and/or equipment in the educational environment. Work collaboratively with school personnel to support the student's independent functioning within the school setting. Provide and participate with opportunities for in-service trainings as related to special needs, educational supports, provision of OT services and/or state and federal regulations, etc. as related to education. Ability to complete daily documentation related to services provided to students per department guidelines. Provide written information for evaluation, progress reports, and monitoring progress. Upload documentation according to federal, state and school guidelines. Provide supervision to COTA within the school setting per federal, state and GLASS guidelines.
