In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including acute care, outpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise in medical terminology and physiology will be essential in assisting patients on their journey to recovery and improved mobility. Duties Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries. Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to enhance patient mobility and strength. Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist. Educate patients and their families about exercises, techniques, and home care strategies. Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes. Utilize trigger point therapy techniques as needed to alleviate pain and discomfort. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Experience Previous experience in acute care, outpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team. Familiarity with various physical therapy modalities and techniques is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and their families while providing empathetic care. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating flexibility in adapting to changing patient needs.
