DOELocation: Paris, ILZIP Code: 61944Start Date: Right AwayShift: 1st ShiftKeywords: #CNCMACHINIST #ILjobsJob Description: :CNC Machining TechnicianPosition SummaryThe Machining Technician is responsible for setting up and operating CNC and manual metal fabrication equipment to machine a variety of materials in accordance with specifications, routers, and quality standards.Key Responsibilities Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and workpieces on machines. Set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to perform cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and related operations. Perform machining operations as specified on routers and work instructions. Load control media and retrieve programmed instructions from the machine controller. Calculate and set machine controls including spindle positioning, cutting depth, speed, feed rate, and coolant flow. Select, install, and maintain cutting tools. Monitor machine operation to ensure safe and efficient performance. Adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance conditions. Measure and verify parts meet blueprint, sketch, and specification requirements using appropriate measurement tools. Clean machines and tooling after use. Maintain housekeeping standards and apply 6S principles in work areas. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow all quality systems, operating procedures, safety rules, and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of college or technical school or three years of related machining experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and cognitive skills. Ability to read and understand routers, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, manuals, and specifications. Good problem-solving, judgment, and communication skills. Basic computer skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primary work location: Manufacturing floor. Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending, kneeling/crouching, climbing, pushing, and pulling. Exposure to noise. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
