Systems AdministratorLocation: Springfield, VA, USJob ID: ATR 17825Job DescriptionJob Title: Systems AdministratorLocation: Springfield, VAEligibility: Candidate must possess an active TS/SCI clearance and bewilling to obtain a CI PolygraphJob Description:The Systems Administrator will work closely with both on site and remoteusers to coordinate site visits and upgrades, provide on-site and remoteresolution support for trouble calls, and provide TIER 2/3 support ofproduction systems.• Systems administration of desktop and server systems connected tolocal and wide area networks. Desktop system management responsibilitiesinvolving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS)installation, and other local area system administration relatedfunctions.• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance ofIT systems and management of system infrastructure and any processesrelated to these systems• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations,monitoring and problem resolution for all of theclient/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification, diagnosis andresolution• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status toagency management and internal customers• Install/load operating system and application software• Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving theapplications, the operating system, the hardware, the communicationsinfrastructure, or any combination thereof• Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network componentsalong with implementing operating systems enhancements to improvereliability and performance• Perform software installations and upgrades to Unix/Windows operatingsystems and layered software packages and maintains them in accordancewith established policies, procedures and service level agreements;evaluation and installation of software/hardware patches and resolutionof software related problems associated with COTS/GOTS products• Create and follow procedures to maintain and manage multiple linkeddatabases including security, data safety and integrity, disasterrecovery, and bulk data import/exports.• Conduct routine and emergency maintenance of assigned data centerequipment• Communicate/coordinate scheduled preventive maintenance windows withpotentially impacted customers• Collaborate and contribute to the development, administration, andtesting of backup and recovery plans• Ensure systems are secure to STIG guidelines by utilizing tools suchas Retina and HBSS• Maintain operational, configuration, and other standard operatingprocedures (SOPs).• Verify system availability with existing Enterprise toolsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Requirements:• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an equivalentcombination of education and years of experience.• TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly• Experience working with trouble reporting and tracking systems such asService+•Ability to respond to after hour calls “provide on-call support"• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressureenvironment.• Ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570 Level II equivalentand a Windows Certification within 90 days of hire• Ability to deploy in-theater for up to 6 months as needed• Must have a valid US passport• General knowledge of, Windows and UNIX administration, computersystems hardware, network administration, Storage administration andsome network configuration management skills• Position requires 30-75% travel within the Washington Metropolitanarea. On occasion can include travel to other CONUS and OCONUSlocations.Physical Demands:• The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance andstoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally liftand/or move up to 50 pounds.Desired Skills:• Experience in the imagery intelligence domain a plus• Ability to create and modify scripts in multiple disciplines onWindows, Linux, and Solaris systems• Knowledge of the Customer's processes and procedures and of theCustomer's production systems a plus• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressureenvironment.• Ability to function as a team member and independently• Prefer skills in one or more of the following: Window Server, Red Hat,IRIX, Solaris, Sybase, Informix, SQL, and Imagery Production Chain• General knowledge of database administration, network administrationand possess network configuration management skills.• Experience with analytical tools such as Arc GIS, Socet GXP, ETCdesiredWork Environment:• During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme coldor hot weather conditions.
