Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingCompetitive salaryDental insuranceHealth insuranceOpportunity for advancementPaid time offTraining & developmentTuition assistanceAWK Consulting Engineers, Inc is currently seeking an Entry to Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineers or Geologists for our offices in Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, PA.RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspection of test boring drilling activities and classification of soil and rock samples retrieved during drillingPreparation of boring logs for various types of projectsAssisting with development of laboratory testing programsField reconnassainceAssist project engineer in preparing soil reconnaissance report (Subsurface Exploration Planning Submission)Design and analysis of various shallow and deep foundation systems for structures; including calculations to determine bearing resistance or load-carrying capacity of the foundations, along with estimation of foundation settlements under different subsurface conditions and structural loading combinationsPrepare Structure Foundation Reports and other geotechnical analyses, such as slope stabilityWork will be performed under the supervision of senior project engineers and geologistsSKILLS & EXPERIENCE:0-5 years of applicable experienceWork experience in the geotechnical/construction industry a plusBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or GeologyPennDOT Drilling Inspector Certification is preferredAble to travel statewide and work out of town on longer-term assignmentsMust be physically capable of fieldworkAbility to manage time and prioritize tasks to maximize efficiencyValid PA driver's licenseHOW TO APPLY: For consideration, reply with a resume highlighting your experience, expression of interest, and compensation requirements.
